March is dedicated to French spoken around the world.
We are organising a variety of events to celebrate "la Francophonie". This month will be a great opportunity to learn
more about the French language, within literature, reading performance, puns exhibition in our premises, quiz night... all while having
fun.

2nd: MONTHLY BREAKFAST
|
Join us for this
special edition breakfast, socialise while chatting in French and learn without even noticing.
Andrea and Graham welcome us to their lovely garden the first Saturday of each month. There are 3 groups facilitated: beginner,
intermediate and advanced. Grab a croissant, help yourself to a cup of coffee or tea and jump in any of these groups to practice
French. (The advanced group is generally people who have lived in France & French
people).

9th: QUIZ & POT LUCK
|
What is a better way to learn or test your knowledge on "La Francophonie" than a quiz?
Join us, have fun and test yourself with our trivia questions. Bring a plate to share and come with your team or join a table.
The quiz will be accessible to non-French speakers.

14th: TRAVEL LITERATURE WITH JULIEN BLANC-GRAS
|
Meet Julien Blanc-Gras! The
writer, journalist, director and globetrotter born in France, in Gap, is making a stop at our Alliance.
Julien has explored the four corners of the world and he is now a part of the Randell Cottage Writers Trust. Some of his novels
include, "Touriste", "In utero", or "Comme à la guerre".
For his intervention at our
Alliance, Blanc-Gras will mainly talk about his journey of travel writing which includes his
different novels in the Kiribati, Greenland, Qatar and more.
Join along and ask questions in French or English. Don't miss this unique chance to meet an engaging author and travel through his
inspiring journey!

20th: READING PERFORMANCE WITH YASMINE ATTOUMANE

Meet Yasmine Attoumane! The Réunionese
visual artist will invite you to discover the fascinating work she's doing as part of the Te Whare Hēra residency in New Zealand. She
often projects her home and where she grew up through her visual performances. Don't miss this unique chance to meet an amazing
artist and to discover different French cultures around the world!
Join along, meet the
artist and his work, ask questions in French or English and discover an experience about French spoken around the
world.

22nd: MOVIE NIGHT "LA NUIT DES ROIS"
|
This month's movie night is "La Nuit des Rois" directed by Philippe Lacôte.
Plot: A young man is sent to "La Maca", a prison of Ivory Coast in the middle of the forest ruled by its prisoners.
With the red moon rising, he is designated by the Boss to be
the new "Roman" and must tell a story to the other prisoners to survive.

ALL MARCH: EXHIBITION
|
French puns to learn and have fun Visit our premises during our opening hours and try to read our virelangues loud as fast as possible,
find out how you write the different sets of
homophones, and get to decipher the calembours through 14 posters.
This exhibition will also be the opportunity to welcome French classes from several high schools.
