Christophe Rousset is the outstanding harpsichordist of his generation, describing his instrument as a time machine: “it really takes you to another era.” He is bringing three other leading members of his group, Les Talens Lyriques, to our shores for the first time.
With a varied programme of French suites, sonatas and character pieces, Rousset and his musicians will take you to Versailles with their exquisite period instruments – to the dazzlingly elegant and indulgent court of Louis XIV. The programme includes works by Couperin, Forqueray, Leclair, and Rameau.
Gilone Gaubert-Jacques, violin
Gabriel Grosbard, violin
